The 2nd Symposium "Operational Excellence Culture for The Millenial Workforce" will take place on November 8th and 9th at the Downtown Hilton, Knoxville. This event represents a gathering of all people engaged with Operational Excellence in East Tennessee and surrounding areas, where both industry and academia share best practices, developed for the challenges particular to this region.

Associate Professor and Lean Specialist at Federal University of Santa Catarina, Brazil

 

Doctor in Industrial Engineering (2012), graduated in Mechanical Engineering (2003) at Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul. Has worked for 12 years in automotive industry with international experience in areas such as Continuous Improvement, Production and Quality Systems. Guilherme Tortorella is the research supervisor of the Productivity and Continuous Improvement Lab and is the author of many papers in deemed international journals. He is the committee coordinator of the Brazilian Lean Systems Conference, which currently is in its 9th edition and the Editor-in-Chief of Journal of Lean Systems

Burt holds a Bachelors degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Human Services and was recognized in Who's Who among American Colleges and Universities.  Burt was a regional Vice President with Chuck Colson and Prison Fellowship Ministries, where he had served for 17 years, serving in Washington, DC as director for the Southeast Region, National Director of Programs and Human Resource Development, and Chief of Staff for the Division of Research and Development.
